What exactly is bulk organic waste?
Bulk organic waste typically includes large volumes of biodegradable materials such as food scraps, garden trimmings, and agricultural residues. It’s not your everyday household rubbish – organic waste typically come from water treatment, waste water treatment, AD sites and compost facilities.
How does bulk organic waste differ from regular waste?
Unlike typical mixed waste, bulk organic waste is specifically composed of natural, decomposable materials. This means it can be processed into nutrient-rich compost or bioenergy, reducing landfill load while boosting sustainability.
What types of bulk organic waste can you handle?
Where we can, we will find a home for all types of waste. We are particularly interested in the following EWC codes:

What are the environmental benefits of processing bulk organic waste?
Transforming bulk organic waste helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting waste from landfills. Plus, the end products—like nutrient-rich compost—can rejuvenate soil health and support sustainable agriculture. Essentially, you’re contributing to a circular economy where nothing goes to waste.
What happens after bulk organic waste is processed?
After processing, the waste is transformed into valuable resources such as high-quality compost or renewable energy through biogas production.
What is considered bulk food waste?
Bulk food waste refers to large quantities of discarded food, typically from businesses like restaurants, hotels, food manufacturers, supermarkets, and farms. It includes expired or unsellable food, packaged and palletised food waste.
Can I include packaging with food waste?
Contact our team to discuss! We can usually find solutions for all types of waste, including food waste with packaging. Whether it’s compostable, recyclable, or requires specialised disposal, we’ll help you manage it efficiently and sustainably.
What happens to the food waste after collection?
♻️ Composted to create nutrient-rich soil enhancers
⚡ Converted into renewable energy through anaerobic digestion
🐄 Used for animal feed (for certain approved waste streams)
🏭 Processed for industrial uses such as biofuels or bioplastics
How do I get started with your bulk organic waste service?
- Contact the team by phone or email to discuss organic waste type.
- The team will extract all relevant required information and assess and evaluate the most efficient and sustainable solution. This will often include a site visit to understand the processes producing the material and taking of samples of the material.
- Using our nationwide network, we will develop a proposal ensuring compliance with regulations. This may include trial loads or, in some cases, trialing a whole new process to understand how the waste can be effectively treated within regulatory.
- Once agreed we will schedule a plan of works with a designated account manager to manage the process from start to finish. We would generally organise the transport of the material, thereby providing a holistic solution to our customers.
