Food Waste Disposal

We have a network of  AD and composting facilities across the country to ensure waste is kept out of landfills and instead contributes to low carbon energy and the production of biofertilisers.

Overview

Managing food waste efficiently and sustainably is a vital aspect of modern waste management. At Site Solutions, we collaborate with a nationwide network of facilities, enabling us to offer seamless and efficient solutions for treatment of waste across the UK. Alongside our strong industry connections, we bring the expertise needed to ensure the legal and responsible disposal of food waste to anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.

With a fresh drive from Government to see food waste segregated at source and thereby diverted from landfill, it is anticipated that there will be growing pressure on capacity at AD plants. We can call on our network of suitable AD and composting facilities across the country to ensure waste is kept out of landfills and instead contributes to low carbon energy and the production of biofertilisers.

We like a challenge and are used to trying to find a home for more difficult waste streams such as packaged and palletised food waste.  Finding the right combination of depackaging and treatment can be a challenge, but it is one we relish (no pun intended!)

Our customers receive clear documentation showing how the food waste and any associated packaging was treated and/or disposed of to help customers meet their duty of care responsibilities and inform recycling rates.

Our tailored solutions are designed to meet specific requirements whilst adhering to strict compliance standards. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the circular economy, we’re committed to transforming waste into a valuable resource while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

How we work

Call/email the team to discuss food waste load and location.

Using our nationwide network, we will develop a proposal ensuring compliance with regulations. This will often include a site visit to understand the format in which the waste can be transported and taking of samples of the material.

Once agreed we will schedule a plan of works, with a designated account manager to manage the process from start to finish. We would generally organise the transport of the material, thereby providing a holistic solution to our customers.

Compliance documentation is provided and can be accessed directly by customers if they request access to our online portal.

Get in touch today to discuss.
