Types of skips

Our accredited network of sub-contractors nationwide enables Site Solutions to arrange skip hire of different sizes anywhere in the UK. We can arrange local skip hire to you but also from the secluded highlands of Scotland to the southern depths of Cornwall, we will organise and manage from start to finish. Site Solutions offers a comprehensive skip hire service catering for all types of waste.

Sizes start from 2yard skips, Mini and Midi for smaller volumes of waste disposal, up to 40yard roll on roll off skip for high volumes of light and bulky waste. Below is a basic skip size guide with details of the capacities for each size to give you an idea of the most appropriate to choose for your requirements.

Mini and Midi

For a smaller waste load, mini and midi skips are available in sizes 2,3 and 4 yards.

Maxi - Builders Skips

For larger commercial loads the popular ‘builders skips’ are available in sizes 6 and 8 yards.

Large Skips

Large skips are available from 12-16-yard skips. High sides make the skip ideal for bulky items of waste.

Roll On Roll Off Skips

There are two main types of roll on off skips available. 15-20yard skips are available for greater volumes of waste and ideal for heavy materials. Larger 40yard roll on off skips are used for larger volumes of ‘light’ waste. This skip is not suitable for heavy materials.

Enclosed Skips

Enclosed skips are also available for the safe storage and disposal of larger volumes of waste. Waste includes general or recycling materials, heavy and bulky materials, inert materials and dry wastes. Enclosed skips are ideal for hazardous wastes or in areas where security is an issue whilst also protecting its contents from the elements. Fastenings are available for the option to lock if necessary.
